Rojoni, Rickshaw pullar, Thyroid cancer

Sweet 2-year old Rojoni came to us from Kustia. She developed a big tumour inside her mouth cavity for last four months. She could not eat food or breathe properly. She went to Rajshahi and different hospitals in Dhaka, but because the operation was very risky, especially given her age, nobody took on the responsibility. Ultimately, she came to us and we decided to operate despite the risks. Following this, she could eat and breathe comfortably. However, a follow-up biopsy report revealed a horrible type of cancer. In order to treat it, she needs a very costly chemotherapy treatment. Her family lives in poverty and, by this point in time, her father had used all of their money on her previous costs. To access a good hospital, her parents are moving Kustia to Dhaka, leaving their other little girl in the village. Transport, living and food costs, as well as treatment expenditure in the hospital, are difficult for this poor father. But he is desperate to cure his small baby. Our foundation gave her some financial support to begin chemotherapy. But we still don’t know when this fight will come to an end and Rojoni can finally see a good morning.
